A coffee machine has one physical job: move hot water through ground coffee at a controlled temperature and rate. A network connection does not touch any part of that. Moving recipes in and out
This is the one case where a connection does something a panel genuinely cannot. A pour over recipe is a sequence of pours, pauses, water weights and temperatures. Typing that on a dial is miserable. Receiving it from a roaster as a file is the sort of thing a network is for. Where the listing data stops
This is the part buyers should be most cautious about. Many listings in this catalog name a connected or app driven feature and publish nothing at all about the conditions attached to it. They do not say whether an account is required to finish setup, whether the app is available on your phone version, what happens to saved recipes if the account is closed, or how long the manufacturer intends to support the service. Absence of a stated limit is not the same as absence of a limit.
The specifications themselves are not always reliable either. The K-Supreme Plus Smart entry records a voltage of 230 volts AC on a brewer sold for North American outlets, which is a data error rather than a product claim. If a spec table can be wrong about voltage, it is not a source for how an account will be handled in year six.
If you want X, look for Y
If you want the coffee itself to be more controllable, look for control published on the machine, not on a phone. The coffee machines here that list brew temperature control, bloom time or flow rate are offering something specific. A machine that lists only app control is offering an interface.
