Copyright

Our content

The written material on ngadgets.com is ours. That covers the appliance reviews, the articles, the category and page copy, the headings and section structure we use, and the arrangement and presentation of the site as a whole. It is protected by copyright, and it is not in the public domain simply because it is readable without a login.

You are welcome to quote a short passage for commentary, criticism, news reporting or research, provided you attribute it to ngadgets.com and link to the page you took it from.

What is not permitted, without written permission: republishing a review or article in full or in substantial part, spinning or paraphrasing our copy to pass it off as new writing, scraping the site in bulk, mirroring it, packaging our content into a feed or an app, or using it as training data for a machine learning system. If you would like to do any of these things, ask first at [email protected]. We answer reasonable requests.

Product images, brands and specifications

The product photographs, brand names, logos, model designations and technical specifications that appear on this site are not ours and we make no claim to them. They belong to the respective manufacturers, to Amazon, and to other rights holders.

They appear here for one reason: to identify the specific appliance being discussed, so a reader can tell which machine a review is about. That is nominative use. It does not imply that any manufacturer endorses, sponsors, reviews or is affiliated with this site, and it does not transfer any right in those materials to us or to you. Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates. Content sourced from Amazon is provided as is and may change or be removed at any time.

If you are a rights holder and you would prefer your image or material not to appear here, tell us and we will remove it. You do not need to send a formal legal notice to get a picture taken down. An email is enough.

Copyright complaints and takedown requests

We respect copyright and we act on credible complaints. If you believe material on this site infringes a copyright you own or control, write to [email protected] with the subject line “Copyright complaint”.

To let us act quickly, please include:

  1. Your name and contact details, including an email address we can reply to.
  2. Identification of the work you say has been infringed, or a representative list if there are several.
  3. The full URL of every page on this site where the material appears, and enough detail to locate it on the page.
  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief the use is not authorized by the rights holder, its agent, or the law.
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or are authorized to act on the rights holder’s behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

We aim to review complaints promptly and will remove or disable access to material where a complaint appears well founded. Incomplete notices slow things down, so please include the URLs.

To be transparent about one point: we have not registered a DMCA designated agent with the United States Copyright Office. A number of sites claim to have one when they do not, and we would rather not. The email address above is the correct route to us, and we handle complaints that arrive through it. If you believe your notice requires a registered agent to be legally effective, you may also wish to contact our hosting provider.

Counter notices

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, write to the same address with a counter notice explaining why, identifying what was removed and where it appeared, and confirming your good faith belief that the removal was in error. We will consider it and respond.

Please note that submitting a knowingly false claim of infringement, or a knowingly false counter notice, can carry legal consequences for the person who sent it.
